Here are the results of all this.
Positive z-scores indicate greater BOLD signal during left attention, and negative z-scores indicate greater BOLD signal during right attention.
The time-series, averaged across all subjects, are expressed in terms of percent increment from resting baseline. The horizontal axis is time in seconds, and the zero point is the time at which a successfully detected target was delivered.
The controls showed a robust pattern of activation of ventral occipital cortex contralateral to the attended hemifield. This effect was significant in both hemispheres.
There was also a weaker activation in intraparietal sulcus contralateral to the suppressed hemifield. In the normal subjects, this intraparietal activation reached significance in the right hemisphere.
