Dr Bonneh introduced the idea that people with autism have difficulty shifting or integrating among sensory inputs, and the very important notion that people with autism may use different, compensatory mechanisms to accomplish perceptual tasks. I'm going to tell you about some of the neurophysiology underlying these traits.
